Equipment List
Following is a list of essential equipment for a comfortable and enjoyable hunt. For a printable pdf-format version of this list, click here.
Our experience has been that most people bring way too much gear. The transportation to camp and return cost covers you and 75 pounds of gear up to 275 pounds combined weight. Additional weight is charged at from two to five dollars a pound.
The following list is designed to include only what is needed for a well equipped, comfortable hunt. Anything more just adds to the weight and makes for upset horses and airplanes.
- Undergarments and personal toiletries as needed
- 1 medium towel approx 18 by 30
- 1 pair light long johns for Aug, 2 pair for Sept and Oct
- 2 pair jeans or good quality camo pants, wool is recommended after Sept 15th
- 3 t-shirts, 2 shirts flannel, chamois or wool
- 3 pair wool socks, 8 pair light socks
- 1 wool/fleece sweater after Sept 6
- 1 down coat, 1 floater coat(life jacket) for all boat hunts
- 1 pair top quality rain gear top and bottom. Not needed for winter wolf
- 1 water proof hat, uninsulated for Aug, insulated after Sept 15th
- 1 pair gloves, thinsulate gore-tex after Sept.

- fishing gear
- Rifle and 40 rounds of ammunition
All gear for horse hunts must be in duffel bags less than 28 inches long and under 14 inches in diameter. The horses prefer two small bags over a heavy one.
For snowmobile hunts you will need the following in addition to the above:
- One pair snowmobile mitts
- one snowmobile suit or insulated water proof coveralls
- one parka with fur trimmed hood
- one balaclava (face covering)
- ski goggles
- a pair of water proof boots rated to 100 below with one or two spare liners
- it is also wise to bring 3 dozen hand warmers of various sizes to put in your boots and mitts as well as your camera case to keep everything working
