The Concession

Canada’s Yukon and especially the south east Yukon where I operate is one of North America’s prime mixed bag (our term for multiple species hunts) hunting destinations. A quick glance at the record books shows the top mountain caribou come from here. Moose are abundant and during the rut, 100% success is the rule. It is also a somewhat "undiscovered" mt. goat area. Grizzly, sheep, wolf, black bear and wolverine round out the bag.

Because there are few hunters in an immense area (my exclusive concession is about the same size as Switzerland or five times as large as Yellowstone- with nobody living in it and only 30 miles of road) we can offer you long overlapping seasons which gives you the chance to hunt not only a healthy animal population but you also get to hunt at the best time, i.e. moose and caribou during the rut, goats when the weather is the nicest, bear in September and wolves in February.

The remote wilderness setting for our hunts make them expensive but in 15 years of guiding here, I have yet to meet another hunter other than along the 30 miles of road in one corner. For you, this means the animals probably have never seen another human and get to grow old and big. It also means they are not spooked so bow hunting is easier.

Even though our concession is huge, we limit ourselves to about 30 clients per fall. We do this so we can personalize each hunt, placing you with a guide who knows the area and animals well. Most of our guides are professionals who have been guiding for us for years. Many are trappers who live in the bush now and have for most of their lives. This experience and professionalism shows in many ways - number of trophies taken and a high percentage of repeat (happy) clients to name a few.

Our horse back hunts give you the option of concentrating on one species or bagging them all. The horses add a touch of tradition to the hunt plus they make especially the sheep, goat and caribou hunting easier and we can pack in more of life’s luxuries for you. The boat hunts are the way to hunt moose. These often take only a few days so you get to fish, relax and truly enjoy the wilderness. These are a great way to introduce your spouse, son or daughter to the joys of hunting. The snowmobile and wolf hunts are relatively new hunts. All who have experienced them have enjoyed them. The spring bear hunts have not been on my priority list the last few years but are now back in swing with some new areas for even better results.

You always have your own guide and a camp has two hunters and two guides.

Because we only take a limited number of hunters each year and many friends from previous years are all ready booked in you should call now if you want one of these outstanding hunts and are serious about putting the trophies of your dreams on your wall.

How To Get Here

Watson Lake, our home is right on the Alaska highway so you can drive if you wish but most people fly. This year you have to go to Vancouver, or Calgary and then to Whitehorse.  In Whitehorse you rent a vehicle and drive to Watson Lake

Once you get to Watson Lake we take care of you. We meet you, take you to a hotel, get licenses, and take you to the float plane to fly you to camp. This is all arranged, but is your expense.
